PeeWee LL, U13, 2017-2018 (Twin Centre Minor Hockey)

The Stars played their final game of the 'B' division playoffs and ended with a tie against the Hespeler Shamrocks.  It was a well fought battle with end to end action thru-out the game.  The boys played hard and had lots of pressure around the Shamrock's net but couldn't find the back of it thru the 1st and 2nd periods.  The Shamrocks score 5 minutes into the 3rd and the Stars battled back scoring 3 minutes later.  Great work Stars!  With the regular season over and the playoffs done.  The Stars have one more tournament to play - the New Hamburg Optimist April 7th, 2018. GO STARS GO!  

We started playoffs (B division) against Embro Red 2 on January 26. It was an evenly matched game for the first 2 periods. The Stars had 4 goals in less than a minute - 3:55 Owen V from Sam, 3:46 Alen from Owen V, 3:14 Caden from Parker, 3:04 Alex from Noah.  Great start to the playoffs!  We headed north Groundhog day playing in the Bradford Blue Gold tournament. The boys played 3 great games. The boys and parents all had a great weekend (especially learning the difference between a Hotel law and a Hotel rule!   

The Stars played great in the 1st annual Richard Vollmer tournament on Dec 8-10. They lost all 3 games but they were all close.  The 1st game they lost in the shootout. The  game they lost in overtime. The 3rd game results was a loss by a goal late in the 3rd period. Its been a busy week following the tournament. We played St George Dec 13 and lost 3-1 officially but it should've been 2-1 since the 3rd goal (into the empty net) was 4 feet offside. For my disagreement with the call I received a 3 game vacation.  

The Stars lost a heartbreaking game to the Beverly Bandits 2-1. The Bandits scored late in the 1st period. The Stars tied it up in the 2nd on a break-a-way by Owen V. Unfortunately the Bandits took the lead again in the 3rd and held it.  Seager was stellar in net, Alex made numerous passes to players in the slot but they couldn't cash in with a goal.  Defense was strong at the blue line and in our zone.  Caden, Parker, Simon, Sam and Spencer moved the puck into the offensive zone great.   We'll find the scoring touch soon!  Good job Stars!

In the hockey version of the "Battle of the Barns" the Stars came up short against New Hamburg 1 and 2.
