On Sunday afternoon our Pee Wee LL 2 Stars hooked up against the Embro Edge 2 team in an away game that contained lots of excitement for all the fans.
The Stars went down early having given up 2 goals but it would be Alan D who would cut the lead in half at the 6:25 mark of the 1st on assists from Alen V and Cam B, revving up the Stars bench. The Edge though responded late into the 2nd netting 2 more goals and putting the Stars in a 4-1 hole. The Stars did not give up and were quickly rewarded with a 2nd goal scored by Michael B on an assist from Scott D, then a 3rd goal from Cam B assisted from Scott D and then all of a sudden a 4th goal and second of the game for Cam B on assists from Alan D and Michael B. The table was being set for a great come back. With the score 5-4 for Embro and the Stars controlling the play in the Embro zone, coach pulled Seager G for the last 1:40 in the 3rd. Chance after chance on the Embro goalie were turned away but it would be an errand bounce sending an Embro forward away for an empty net goal to close out the Stars come back.
It was a slow start for the Stars but a strong finish with lots of flare. Our Smartie award player of the game Alen V for a fine defensive play, back checking hard to poke the puck off the stick of an Embro forwad. Our Hard hat player of the game Alan D with a very solid effort fore check and back check spurring his team on to stay motivated. Shout outs to the rest of our Stars, Caden P our Atom partner thanks for the assist when we were down 2 players. Jaxsen L and Alen V both putting up solid efforts playing on D and the wing. Great defensive efforts from Hayden F, Scott D and Jaden G ; welcome back Jaden its been a long wait getting you back on the ice. Our gritty forward of the game Alex G, with a wonderful effort along the boards and in the corners. Another great effort Stars with lots of tenacity and a never give up attitude.
