Now We Wait / Playoff Round Up
Our Pee Wee Stars half through their play downs, short Jaxsen L from concussion and a trip to Cuba and sitting in 4th place faced a daunting climb to get back in the playoff hunt for a top two seed in the B pool.

With 5 games left and only 6 points in the bank the Stars began to buckle down.

In game # 6 of their play off; against the Embro Edge the Stars would battle hard to come back and achieve a 1-1 tie, with the goal being scored in the 2nd period by Owen V on an assist by Alen V. Another goaltenders duel by two great net minders and exciting to the finish.

In Game 7 our Stars took on the Beverley Bandits at home in a tightly contested game which Beverley was able to steal in the last 4 minutes of the 3rd serving up a 4-3 loss. The game was back and fourth the whole way and could have easily turned out the other way. Our goal scorers Alan D assisted by Hayden F & Cam B with 2 goals assisted by Alex g and Scott D. The Stars never got deflated even when the go ahead goal was scored, it was a battle to the end with a solid team effort.

Game 8 was the rematch in Beverley for the Stars. After having suffered the Thursday night loss, the Stars would demonstrate they had come to play; even after Beverley opened the scoring in the 1st, the Stars responded quickly with a goal by Owen V. The Bandits quickly took the lead back in the 3rd only to witness the Stars tenacity to come back and tie it once more on a goal by Michael B assisted by Caden P our AP atom player.  This was another great effort and show of resilience by the Stars achieving a 2-2 tie.

The Stars had only been able add 2 more points to their bank after completing 3 games making the climb even steeper to get to a top two position.

In Game 9 the Stars welcomed back Jaxsen L to take on the Tavistock Titans, a game in which the Stars would once again demonstrate their come back ability and their composure in the face of a rain of penalty minutes in the 3rd for both teams. The Stars having given up the 1st goal in the game would mount their come back in the 3rd with a goal by Cam B assisted by Jaxsen L. Alan D (assisted by Hayden F and Alex G)gave the Stars back the lead. The Titans would quickly respond  to tie it 2-2 minutes later. Unshaken by the Titans quick response the Stars added 2 more goals, the 3rd by Cam B assisted from Scott D and the 4th by Jaxsen L assisted by Cam B and Alen V. The Titans would make it close once more adding their 3rd of the game but the Stars would hold on for the victory.

The Stars needed to win Game 10 to have any hope to continue their season. In their last away game of the playoffs they faced the Hespler Shamrocks #3, a team which they had only tied; twice in their 2 prior meetings.
With 2 points on the on the line and their last chance at trying to get into a top 2 position the boys would come out fast notching the 1st goal of the game just 35 seconds in scored by Alan D assisted by Michael B. Two minutes later Michael B added the second goal assisted by Scott D and Cam B. The 3rd minutes later by Cam B then the  4th by Owen V assisted from Cam B and Jaxsen L the 5th& 6th goals by Michael B with an assist from Scott D.  The Stars performance was a solid team effort with lots of great passing, back checking, puck battles and puck possession. Even though I have only mentioned the goal scores and assist getters, there were fine performance from all the Stars in these last 5 games. Shout outs to : Seager G for always giving us that chance for a win, our fine defensive core Scott D, Hayden F, Alen V, Owen J and Jaden G, I wouldn't want to have to battle the 5 of you in a corner. Our Forwards Alex G, Owen V, Michael B, Jaxsen L Cam B and Alan D, you have all come so far with your positioning, back checking and fore checking and thanks to Caden P and Logan G our Atom young guns for assisting when we were down. With their goal achieved the Stars now sit in second place in the B pool and must watch and wait for the out come of the remaining games. No matter what happens from here on out, the boys played a great season and have come along  way since that 1st practice. I am proud of all of them for their efforts, commitment & respect for their teammates and the game of hockey. It is evident they are growing into fine young men.

As we wait our focus now will turn to our last tournament of the season in Niagara, its going to be a blast Stars! See you at practice Tuesday night.

Go Stars!!!
