Niagara On The Lake March Break Classic
The Stars wrapped up their last tournament of the year in Niagara with a fine showing.

In their 1st game Stars faced off against the Barrie "8" a team which had some early speed but were gradually worn down by the Stars forwards, resulting in a 3-1 victory for the Stars. Our goal scorers in game 1: Cam B with 2 and Michael B with one. Assists by Jaxsen L 2, Scott D 1 and Alex G 1.

Game 2 of the tournament saw the Stars match up against a familiar foe in The St George Generals, the Stars were hard pressed in game 2 as the St George goaltender played extremely well turning away the Stars chances time after time. In the end the Stars were denied a win losing 3-1.

Game 3 : The Stars matched up against the Host team The Niagara on the Lake Wolves. A little slow out of the gate the Stars surrendered the first goal of the game but stormed back in the second to net 6 goals and then add another 2 more in the 3rd. The Stars would come away with a 8-2 victory. Our goal scorers Scott D 1, Cam B 2, Michael B 1, Owen J 1, Jaxsen L 2 and Alan D 1. Assists in the game Cam B 4, Jaxsen L 3 and Owen V 3. The big victory was just enough to break a 3 way tie and vault the Stars into the Semi Final game.

Game 4- The Semi Final : In the Semi Final the Stars matched up against another Barrie team "Barrie Red". A team which was posting a 20 goals for and 2 against in the tournament and had not lost. The Stars had their work cut out for them in this game but the Barrie team was just to strong and disciplined. The Stars surrender 3 quick goals in the 1st and then were able to keep the Barrie team to just 1 goal in the 2nd and 1 in the 3rd for a 5-0 loss. The boys battled well and represented Twin Centre with dignity and pride. And it was Barrie Red who would go on to claim victory in the tournament, not so bad losing to the winner of the tournament.

The tournament turned out to be a great learning experience for the boys; a real feather they can put in their caps to build on for future years. Its time to get ready for our tie breaker game vs Embro. Lets take this energy and build a victory.

Go Stars !!!
