STARS TAKE TIE BREAKER

Holy Mackinaw!!!!! If you weren't at the tie breaker vs Embro you missed one of the best battles of the year.

Both teams matched up in the play downs tying each other 3-3 and 1-1. This would prove to be the best one yet. The tie breaker was a battle which had everything. Disallowed goals, breakaways, penalty shots, overtime, a coach serving game 2 of 2 game suspension and ultimately a Stars 3-2 victory. It a must win game for both teams, a victory would ensure  a 4 game series against the Woolwich Wildcats, and a chance for the B pool title. Both teams came to play and the Edge and the Stars battled right to the end.

The Edge opened the scoring 14 seconds into the 1st period with a trickling puck  between the pads on the Stars goalie. The Stars would push right back responding with a goal by Cam B assisted by Jaxsen L. The 2nd would remain scoreless, after a disallowed Stars goal which rattle the back of the net and bounced back out and with a penalty shot turned away by Serger G denying the Edge once more. When it came to the 3rd the Stars though would take the lead at 11:06 but would surrender the lead allowing a power play goal at 8:33. With chances coming at both ends of the ice the tension was building and the fans wanted more and more is what they received. This game was going to overtime and again chance were coming at both ends of the ice. As the time was winding down in the 4th period and just 2:36 on the clock Cam B connected for his second goal of the game on assists from Jaxsen L and Scott D; sending the Stars bench and fans in to celebration. This game could have gone either way, but the hockey gods stood strong for the Stars.

Our hard hat player of the game Cam B. Our Smartie awards Jaxen  L and Scott D on shot to the net for tip in. Owen Janzti for great back checking and Seager G for battling to keep us in there. Shout outs to the whole team as you all gave 100% + and never gave up when the first goal was scored or when the tying goal went in. Be proud of your efforts and hold your heads high Stars.
