Playoffs end with Stars in 1st place!
A great finish to a fun season and the Stars have moved up from 4th seed to finish 1st in our division through the round robin playoffs. WAY TO GO STARS!!!!!!
Our playoff schedule started January 23rd with a win against Tavistock. Game 2 was a showdown with Woolwich and ended in another Stars win putting the playoff record at 2-0. Next game was against the 1st seed Hespeler and ended in a close game 3-2 but a loss for the Stars - playoff record at 2-1.
Game 4 was another battle with Woolwich ending in a Stars win 5-3. Tavistock visited us in St Clements for Game 5 and it was a back and forth game ending in a stalemate at 2-2. Two days later on February 17th was another game against Tavistock, this time ending in a Stars win 4-1 which was also the start of a 3 game win streak that vaulted the Stars into the finals with a strong showing against Hespeler in game 7 with the Stars winning 6-3. Game 8 had visiting Woolwich Wildcats in Wellesley with another strong defensive game to protect our short notice backup goalie ending in a 6-4 win for the Stars. Our last game of the playoffs came on March 4th visiting Hespeler. A hard fought game which was a preview of the Finals. We came up short in this last game ending our winning streak and posting a 3-1 loss against our Final Series opponents. Playoff record at 6-2-1.
Our Atom LL Stars have showed class, determination and a willingness to work together as a team to put forward a great post season run and punch our ticket to the Finals. Coaches, parents and fans are all rooting for the Atom Stars to put forward a strong battle against Hespeler. Keep up the great work team!
