Stars even up series in Hespeler last night
With a full team effort on Thursday night, the Atom Stars came into the game needing a win to extend the final series with Hespeler.  The game was a really exciting battle between both teams.

An even match through the first period with the score 2-2 heading into the second period.  The Stars led with shots on goal every period and had so many chances to try and get the puck past Hespeler.  In the second period alone, the Stars put a season best 17 shots on net but were only able to put 1 goal past Hespeler in the period.  The third period started with the score tied 3-3.  Two goals by Hespeler in the third put the score at 5-3 for Hespeler.  The Stars never gave up despite being down by 2 goals with less than 8 minutes remaining.  A full team pressure by the Stars cut the Hespeler lead to 5-4 with 4:40 remaining in the third.  Continued pressure and excellent defensive play gave the Stars a chance to tie up the game at 3:08 left.  More pressure, backchecking, solid defensive play, great goaltending and hard work paid off with another Stars goal putting the team ahead 6-5 with less than 2 minutes to go in the third period.

The season is not over yet and the Atom Stars look forward to another hard fought battle on Tuesday night in Wellesley against Hespeler.

Come out and cheer on your Atom Stars!
