Twin Centre Stars and Hespeler Shamrocks still tied after game #3
Our home town Atom LL Stars ended game #3 with a tie against Hespeler setting up a game #4 matchup in Hespeler this Saturday.
It has really been a fantastic final series against Hespeler. Our Atom Stars have played hard every game, putting into play everything we've been working on as a team all year long - puck pressure, positional play, defensive support and shots on net, all while having fun playing the great game of hockey.
Game 3 saw the Stars open the scoring in the first period, but trailing the Shamrocks into the second period. In the 3rd period the Stars were trailing Hespeler by 2 goals 4-2 with close to 5 minutes remaining. The Stars put pressure in the Hespeler end and won battles for the puck to close the 2 goal gap and end the game at a 4-4 tie. Overtime was needed to see who would prevail after 10 minutes but solid play and great goaltending kept the score tied 4-4 after the OT period. The Stars and Shamrocks head to game #4 on Saturday.
Game time 12:00pm in Hespeler. Come out and cheer on your Atom Stars.
