Star Wars @ Wellesley Arena
The forces were in full flight Monday night as the Pee Wee LL 1 and LL 2 teams hooked up for their only regular season meeting.
While Kylo Ren, BB8, Finn, Chewy, and all the other cast were absent our boys traded light sabers for hockey sticks and provided some great action. For 2 solid periods of play LL 2 and LL 1 were dead locked in a 0-0 tie. It was 3rd period which would be LL 2's undoing as two goals were surrendered in net scrambles with the puck being poked in before the whistle and a 3rd goal on a blown play allowing a LL 1 player to score with a wrist shot blocker side. Right to the end LL 2 kept fighting and what looked to be a goal scored by Alan D in the last 2mins was waved off. It was a great battle back and forth Stars, you really did play some excellent hockey. No one should hang their heads with the result of this game. Remember the dark side needs to win once in a while. Our Smartie award of the game was presented to Gabe B for some heads up play in the front of the LL 1 net. Keep it up Gabe you are due. Our Hard hat player of the game was awarded to Andrew R for a great 2 way effort. Shout outs to the rest of the team for keeping that positive attitude, Jaden G, Ryerson S, Cole M, Kyle W, Sterling G, Seager G, Seth and Noah B, Ethan E, Jaxsen L and Alan D, good job boys time to get ready for our tournament!
