Twin Centre Players and Parents,
After what I’m sure has been a busy summer for all, the 2024-2025 hockey season is just around the corner. TWIN CENTRE HOCKEY begins
August 28th!
Your
Twin Centre Executive has been working hard to make sure we are ready
for the season’s start and on behalf of your board; I wish to welcome
you back to the ice!
The below information has been provided to answer questions you may have as we get a start to the upcoming 2024-2025 season.
PRESEASON ICE TIMES
The first ice times will begin on August 28th at the Wellesley Recreation Complex with the U15 Body Checking clinic, followed by a few more age groups starting on September 4th. Wellesley Recreation Complex will be the first arena to open in our Township this season, with St Clements Arena opening September 23rd. Please check the TCMHA website @ www.tcmha.ca for ice times and schedules as they are updated frequently throughout the season.
Twin Centre will again extend pre-skates to players registered in U8 through U18 before tryouts or practices begin. These are an opportunity for ALL PLAYERS to get back on their skates. Those ice times will begin on September 4th for U8/U9, U11 & U15, followed by U13 & U18 on September 5th. ALL PLAYERS registered in Twin Centre are invited out to these “Preseason Skates”, regardless of whether they are trying out for a Representative team or not. These sessions are listed on our website as “Preseason Skate”. Please note that there are 2 pre-skate sessions for the larger groups (U11, U13, U18) and players are to attend the session by their Last Name as noted on the calendar.

BODY CHECKING CLINIC (U15 & U18)
Twin Centre will be running a Body Checking Clinic on Wednesday August 28th from 6pm-8pm. This clinic is MANDATORY for all players trying out for U15 REP and/or wishing to be considered as Affiliate Players (APs) to U15 REP. Also, for any players trying out for U18 REP who have not previously completed a Body Checking Clinic, they will also be required to attend this clinic prior to tryouts. Please contact our Registrar ([email protected]) or U11-U18 Convenor ([email protected]) for details.
REP TRYOUTS
REP Tryouts will begin on September 16th and these are noted on the calendar as “Tryout”. The cost of REP Tryouts is $75 per player and must be paid through the Hockey Canada HCR 3.0 portal (same as when you registered) by September 13th, 2024. LOCAL LEAGUE
For those players signed up for Local League and who are not trying out for REP, LL team practice ice times will begin on or after September 21st. These are noted on the calendar as “Practice”.

PLAYER ASSIST – EQUIPMENT RENTAL PROGRAM
For those players (First Stars and U7-U9) signed up for the equipment rental program, your equipment pickup date will be Saturday September 7th from 9am-11am at Wellesley Recreation Complex – 1401 Queens Bush Rd, Wellesley. Please make plans to drop in for your sizing and pick up your equipment. Any questions, please email [email protected]
HOCKEY DEVELOPMENT
We will once again have great programs lined up for this season. Twin Centre will be providing options for both dedicated Goalie training as well as Power skating and Hockey Development Player Programs. Both Goalie Clinics and Power skating/Hockey Development Programs will be run at our home arenas so there’s no driving required to Kitchener-Waterloo or elsewhere to get a first class hockey development program for both players and goalies interested in this from Twin Centre. There will be a maximum limit on the number of participants and registration will be offered on a first-come, first-serve basis. Additional information will be coming soon!
LOCAL LEAGUE TEAM STAFF NEEDED
If you are interested in volunteering for Twin Centre in a coaching or team staff role with one of our local league teams, please reach out to Brett ([email protected]).
COMMUNICATIONS
Our TCMHA website is your best source of scheduling information and communications. We have and will continue to post information and communications on our programs and schedules through the www.tcmha.ca website. Our website has a feature available to sign-up and subscribe to calendar updates for your child’s team. Should you have any questions as we start the season, you can reach us through our general info mailbox at [email protected], on social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) or reach out to a member of your board (https://tcmha.ca/Staff/1003/).
We look forward to a great season ahead, seeing everyone back on the ice and the opportunity to provide hockey programming to all our Twin Centre Stars players!
See you at the rink!
