Tournament Rules & Regulations

All OMHA rules and regulations shall apply, including any COVID-19 regulations.

Approved roster sheets must be forwarded to the Tournament Chair no later than one week prior to the tournament’s first day of play. Failure to do so may result in removal from the tournament without refund.

Travel permits are required for all teams, including OMHA teams.

There will be NO body-checking in U18 LL as per OMHA Rules & Regulations.

Each team is guaranteed three (3) games.

Participation in this tournament is based on a first to register and remit payment basis. No post-dated cheques are accepted. Twin Centre Minor Hockey Association (TCMHA) reserves the right to accept or decline any team.

By entering this tournament, the coach or manager on behalf of their team, releases Twin Centre Minor Hockey (TCMHA), the Tournament Committee and all referees, officials, sponsors, volunteers, arena management and all others concerned with the tournament from any and all liability of injury or accident which may be incurred by any player or team official while participating in, and/or coming to and/or going from the tournament.

Teams must be dressed and ready to play at least 15 minutes in advance of their scheduled game time in the event that games are ahead of schedule.

Teams will be designated as “Home” or “Visitor” by the tournament chair. If there are conflicting jersey colours, the home team will be expected to wear jerseys of contrasting colour. Please bring two (2) sets of jerseys of different colours.

Games will be 10-10-15 “stop time” periods. If there is a five (5) goal difference in the third period, the clock shall “run time” until a deficit of three (3) goals is achieved, at which point the clock shall return to “stop time”. In the case of injury during “run time” the clock shall be stopped until play is able to resume. During “run time” situations, penalties will remain their usual length (no 3:00 penalties). “Run time” will not apply to the finals, unless both teams agree to it in a situation where one team is leading by 5 goals in the third period. The ice will be flooded after every two (2) periods.

Teams are permitted one (1) thirty-second (30) time out in semi-final and final games only.

All games tied at the end of regulation play will have a five (5) minute overtime period. Teams will play 3-on-3 during overtime. If the score remains tied at the conclusion of the overtime period, a shootout will be held to determine the winner.
SHOOTOUT REGULATIONS

Each coach will select three players to participate in the shootout at the end of the game. Players that are still serving a misconduct (10 minute) penalty at the expiration of the overtime shall not be permitted to be a shooter.

Players will shoot one round at a time with one player from each team attempting to score at the SAME TIME.

After the third and final player has shot, the winning team will be determined by the most goals scored.

Should a tie still exist, the same three shooters will shoot again in the same order in sudden death format (on a one for one basis) until a winner is declared.
EXAMPLE: If Team A scores but Team B does not then Team A shall be declared the winner. However if both teams score then another round of shooters will take place until a winner is determined. The same three shooters will rotate in the same order until a winner is declared.

The winning team’s score will be reflected by one additional goal in the final score on the game sheet.

Playoff round teams are awarded to the top 2 finishers after the round robin in both pools. Teams will crossover and play the other pool in both the Rep and LL divisions: 1Av2B and 1Bv2A.

Abusive behaviour by any player, team official, or fan will not be tolerated and will result in the guilty person/persons being expelled from the tournament at the discretion of the Tournament Chair.

In the event of a dispute, the decision of the Tournament Chair shall be considered final.
