Muskoka Rocks Tournament, Stars Take Silver!
The Muskoka Rock Tournament, our last Tournament of the year was a huge success!  The tournament was about a 3 hour drive and round robin games were played in the Bala arena (the coldest arena I've ever been in!)  The Tournament consisted of 10 teams.  The Stars finished the round robin tied for 1st with 23 points!

Game 1:  Temiskaming - The Stars came out with purpose and jumped out to an early lead.  Goals by Barett, Andrew and Ethan (2) led the way and perfect play From Toby resulted in a shutout win 4-0

Game 2: Newcastle - They came into the game with only 9 skaters and I give them credit for playing as well as they did.  The Stars seemed to back off in the first, letting them jump out to an early lead.  Then We woke up, rifling out 8 straight goals from Drew, Noah, Brody (2), Barett, and the natural hat trick from Thomas.  Result - win 8-2.

Game 3: Muskoka Rock - My heart is still pumping because this was quite a game!  Barett Opened the scoring and the Rock came right back with 2 of their own.  Noah responded to tie it at two and before the first was out the Rock scored 2 quick ones to Lead 4-2 after the first.  Ethan was able to get one in the second to cut the lead to 4-3 after the second, the third was a blast!  The Rock got a quick one to make it 5-3 and the Stars Ethan, responded 10 seconds later to close the gap to 5-4.  Drew then tied it 23 seconds later!  The Rock came back with one to make it 6-5 and Then it was the Thomas Show - scoring two in the same shift with only 3 minutes left to give the Stars the lead.  Thomas added a third for the natural hat trick with just  1:28 left to finish this game off with an 8-6 win for the Stars!

Game 4: "A" Championship game - Shelburne - The Stars were pumped.  Battled hard for the entire game against the Big/Fast team from Shelburne.  All in all we played well but seemed a little more tired than the full squad Shelburne brought.  Brody scored late but it was too little as the Stars lost 5-1 in the final.

All in all though this was a great time had by all.  Lots of work at the rink for the players but they also made good use of the indoor/outdoor pool and hot tub as well as the games room at the resort.  I am extremely proud of the players and their efforts and they should be too!  Now we move onto the OMHA and Regular season playoffs headed in on a high note!

GO STARS GO!
