Don't look Ethel, it's a streak!
The Atom Reps extended their unbeaten streak to 7 games this week with a win over Langton and a tie against Ingersoll.
On wednesday the team put on a dominating performance against Langton in a 10-0 win. The team was moving the puck well and recorded 18 of a possible 20 assists on the 10 goals. Tyler (x4), Michael (x2), Connor, Zach and Ben scored while Noah (x4), Michael (x4), Zach (x2), Alex (x2), Sam (x2), Ben, Connor and Kyle had assists. Tyler kept the Langton shooters at bay to record his first shutout with the team. That gave the team three shutouts in a row by 3 different goalies. Very impressive!
On Thursday the team was at home against Ingersoll. They started the game strong but a second period lull found them trailing 1-0 after two periods. The team gave up an early third period goal to fall behind 2-0 but carried the play the rest of the way and put two past the Ingersoll keeper to secure the tie and keep their unbeaten streak going. The third period effort was a good building block for future games and showed the team what they are capable of when they work hard at both ends of the ice. Eric and Noah were the goal scorers while Michael and Kyle had two assists each. Jonathan put up a wall in the third to give the team a chance to come back.
The team will look to keep it's momentum going this week as they play two more league games before starting the Silver Stick.
