Saugeen Shores Chris Knott Memorial Tournament - Silver Medalists!!
Our second tournament of the season had the Stars visit Saugeen Shores for the Chris Knott Memorial Tournament playing in Port Elgin from Nov 1-3.

The team arrived Friday afternoon in Port Elgin for our first game against our league rivals Ingersoll Express.  The Stars came out flying and finished with an 8-0 win - our first win of the tournament.

Our next game on Saturday afternoon was against the Kincardine Kinucks.  This was a battle through all 3 periods of play.  We were able to match Kincardine's speed and had many chances to tie the game up late in the game but fell 3-1 at the final buzzer.

The Saturday night game saw the Stars matchup against the host Saugeen Shores Storm who were undefeated in their first two games.  We played a full game of pressure hockey against some much taller opponents but we didn't give way to their size and kept up our speed game.  Game #3 ended in a 2-2 tie with Saugeen Shores.

Sunday morning was a rematch with Kincardine and a must-win game for the Stars to advance to the finals Sunday afternoon against the host Saugeen Shores team.  Our game against the Kinucks was a back-and-forth battle between two hard working teams.  Our Stars showed resolve, consistency and maintained the required level of hard work and battles for the puck to end up with a 4-2 win advancing to the Finals.

The Championship final on Sunday afternoon was a battle like it was in game 3 against the Storm.  We tried all we could do to match Saugeen Shores pressure and came up short in a 6-2 loss ending our tournament run, but finishing as the 2nd place Silver Medallists!

This was another successful tournament for the Twin Centre Stars further strengthening our competitive spirit and teamwork.  As we say in the room before each and every game, it takes hard work to battle and give us the chance to win each game.  Keep up the excellent work Stars, the coaches and parents are proud of your accomplishments thus far and are very excited to see how far you have come and what lies ahead for our team this season!
