    Tournament Rules:
    6 Team Round Robin: 4 game guarantee
    Teams will be divided into 2 groups of 3. 
    Group 1 will play all teams in Group 2 (and vice versa)
    3rd place team in group 1 will play 3rd place team in group 2
    1st and 2nd place teams from group 1 will play (semi), 1st and 2nd place teams in group 2 will play (semi)
    Consolation will be losing team from semi finals
    Championship will be winning teams from semi finals

    All teams must sign in for each game 45 min prior to start of their game.
    Teams are required to bring two sets of sweaters, home team will wear white and visiting team will wear dark.
    Flooding of ice will occur at end of each game.
    There will be a 2 minute warm-up form the time the Zamboni gate is closed.
    OMHA rules will apply.
    All games must comprise 3 stop time periods as per OMHA regulation 10.2 (a) and 10.2 (b). However, when any team is ahead by five or more goals in the third period the tournament will have the option of utilizing straight time. In this situation the situation the game will proceed under straight time unless the gap is reduced to three goals, at which the clock will revert back to stop time. The only time the clock would be stopped during straight time is if a on-ice injury should occur. 
     
    All periods will be 10/10/10 stop time (unless above).
    All penalties are running time.
    There will be no time-out allotted in round robin games.
    Teams will be allotted points in round robin as such: 2 points for a win, 1 point for a tie, 0 points for a loss.
     
    Tie Breaker (points):
    If two teams are tied at the end of round robin play
    1. head to head record.
    2. goals scored minus goal against
    3. fewest goals allowed against
    4. number of wins
    5. fewest penalty minutes
    6. coin toss
     
    Consolation/Championship Finals:
    Game duration same as round robin 10/10/10
    Highest ranked team in round robin will be home team
    Teams will be permitted one 30 second time out
    If OT required to determine a winner - 5 min 4 on 4 (includes goalie). If OT does not result in a winner, a 3 player shoot out will occur. If still tied then a single player shoot out will occur until a winner is determined. A player can only be used once during the shoot out until all players on the team with the fewest players have shot.

    TOURNAMENT RULES:

    Only C.H.A. and O.M.H.A. rules will apply.

    All decisions by referees and Tournament Committee are final.

    Teams should be ready to play 15 minutes prior to their scheduled game time.

    SUSPENSIONS:

    Suspensions will be governed by the O.M.H.A. Manual of Operations.

    REGISTRATION:

    All teams must present an approved electronic roster and a travel permit from their association before participating in their first game.

     

    DRESSING ROOM CONDUCT:

    The Tournament Committee is requesting the assistance of team players and officials to help keep the dressing rooms tidy at the conclusion of each game. Please encourage your players to use the waste containers

    1. Team officials are requested to do an inspection of their dressing rooms immediately after their players have left and report any damage or untidiness. Offending teams are responsible for any costs associated with damage or untidiness.

    2. As a courtesy to the incoming teams please keep showers short and exit the dressing rooms as quickly as possible.

    3. Dressing room keys will be provided at the tournament headquarters. Keys are not issued until a deposit is provided, which will be reimbursed once the room key is returned.

    GAMES

    Atom and Peewee:

    1) Each team is guaranteed 3 games.

    2) In the Preliminary Round, teams are awarded points as follows:

    2 points for a game win

    1 point for a game tie

    0 points for game loss


    3) The team with the highest points total in each division (A, B, C) with the most points will move on to the semi final games. A Wildcard team will be chosen as the fourth team from the three divisions (see 5).

    4) In the case of teams tied for points for the top teams for advancing positions in each division (A,B and C), the following steps will be followed:

    i) Winner of game against each other advances (Head to Head)
    ii) Team with the most wins advances
    iii) Team with Total Goals for in Preliminary Round advances
    iv) Team with fewest goals against in Preliminary Round advances.
    v) Team with fewest Penalty Minutes in Preliminary Games counted as per Rule 8.1 (e) of OMHA Manual of Operations advances
    vi) Winner of Coin Toss advances.

    (NOTE in the case of three or more teams tied in a division, the steps will apply to all teams till an advancing team is determined, then the remaining teams will begin again at i)


    5) A wildcard team will be be chosen from the three divisions to make the fourth team. The Wildcard team will be decided by the team with the most points of the remaining teams in A, B, and C divisions. 

    6)  In the event of a tie for points the wildcard team, the following steps will be followed:


    i) Team with the most wins advances
    ii) Team with Total Goals for in Preliminary Round advances
    iii) Team with fewest goals against in Preliminary Round advances.
    iv) Team with fewest Penalty Minutes in Preliminary Games counted as per Rule 8.1 (e) of OMHA Manual of Operations advances
    v) Winner of Coin Toss advances.


    Bantam, Midget: 

    1) Each team is guaranteed 3 games.

    2) In the Preliminary Round, teams are awarded points as follows:

    5) Games might run longer than scheduled. 

    6) Be prepared to start 15 minutes prior to your scheduled game time.

    Atom & Pewee Playing times**:

    • Atom Preliminary games are 10 - 10 - 12. No timeouts, overtime or shoot out

    • Peewee Preliminary games are 10 - 10 - 12. No timeouts, overtime or shoot out

    • Semi-Final games are 10 - 10 - 15 (with a 3 on 3, 10 minute sudden victory overtime). If tied, a 5 man victory shoot out.

    • Final Games** are 10 - 10 - flood - 15 (with a 5 on 5, 10 minute sudden victory overtime). If tied, a 5 man victory shoot out.

    • Timeouts allowed in the Final Game only. 

    ** Game Sheets for ALL Final games are to indicate the sequence of the 5 players for shootout prior to the start of the game. In the event that a player listed for shootout is suspended or seriously injured during the game, the coach will indicate an alternate shooter in that players position. If no winner after first 5 shooters, the same 5 will repeat in a sudden victory shootout with each player respectively shooting.

     

    Bantam & Midget Playing times**:

    Mercy Rule

    When any team is ahead by five or more goals in the third period the game will proceed under "straight time" unless the gap is reduced to three goals, at which point the clock will revert back to "stop time".  The only time the clock would be stopped during running time if an on-ice injury should occur.  All minor penalties assessed during running time are of 3 minute duration.
