Silverstick Finalists!!
The Novice Rep boys join tournament late and go undefeated to the finals.
Our boys were a late addition to the Regional Silverstick Tournament in Kincardine after another team dropped out 2 weeks ago. The boys came out strong and victorious in our first game against local rival Tavistock Titans. We faced off against the home team, Kincardine in our second game of the day and shut them out with a 3-0 victory. Our next victim would be the Hanover Falcons on Tuesday morning. The boys put everything on the ice and skated away with a 7-3 victory, shocking everyone at the rink. The Semi-final game at 5:30pm vs Walkerton Capitals would prove to be our toughest game so far. 2 1/2 periods of end to end action resulted in no score until we snuck one past the goalie late in the 3rd. Stars win the game and advance to the Silverstick Finals!!! In a replay of the 2014 Silverstick, Mitchell Meteors came to play. Our Stars got behind early as Mitchell pushed through and got up 5-0. We managed to get 1 in the 3rd and finished with a 5-1 loss. Our boys played with so much heart and determination...they never gave up until the final buzzer. We are all so proud of these boys, we would have never imagined an outcome like this. With a second place finish, we have been invited to attend the International Silverstick Tournament in St. Clair Shores, MI later in January.
