Star Parents: Waiting to Exhale!!! In Beverly.
If you were in Beverly Wednesday night I hope you had your pace maker with you or you might not be reading this today.

The 2 teams hooked up for the 1st game of the B final and they did not disappoint. The action was Vin Diesel like (fast and furious) with both goalies being tested early but it took until the 2nd before the fans got to witness the 1st goal, registered by Beverly at the 6:31 mark. Down by one and having survived 2 separate  penalty kills the Stars began to press back in the 3rd, tying the game with a slap shot from Andrew R. It was Beverly that struck again at the 6:54 mark of the 3rd to regain the lead 2-1 and with time ticking down Beverly looked like they had the game in hand until a penalty was called with 49 seconds left. Oops, too many men on the ice. With the coach calling a time out and the goalie on the bench the scene was set for a fantastic finish. Having lost the draw in the Beverly zone the puck was sent out to the neutral zone for the Stars to regroup. With time ticking down the puck was shot back in by the Stars defence man Ethan Egli and recovered quickly for a shot on net by Andrew R and a quick rebound by Hayden F to tie the game with 15 seconds left.  Holy Mackinaw!!! can you say Over Time!. It was the fourth period where the Stars shone the brightest, hemming in the Bandits and getting opportunity after opportunity. It all came to an end at the 5:10 mark of overtime as Andrew on rush up the left hand side of the ice broke away and put the puck in the top shelf; Hello " Mr. Kraft", move that peanut butter out of the way! What a fantastic game by both teams, i can hardly imagine how much air was exhaled by the fans at the end. The Stars hard hat player of the game was awarded to Andrew R for his great effort to break though the Beverly defence. The smartie award was given to goalie Seager G for not only a fine performance but for an amazing stick save while laying flat on the ice. Each of the boys gave and excellent effort and enough can't be said.
Again, Alex, Logan, Jaden, Hayden, Ethan, Andrew, Sam, Jaxsen, Alan, Mathais, Seager and Yes Michael we heard you cheering with your grandparents in Florida. Great effort, now lets get rested and ready for game two at home Saturday. Remember Friday night...bed 9:00 pm. ;)

Go Stars!!!
