Stars Get It Done!!!
In the first meeting of the round robin with the Beverly Bandits #2, the Twin Centre Stars put forward one of their best efforts of the season to come away with a 3-2 victory.
Andrew R started the scoring in the 1st with an un assisted goal at the 9:17 mark. Alan D put the Stars ahead by 2 on a rebound from Jaxsen's shot with 45 seconds left in the 1st. Beverly pushed back with a second period goal but the Stars quickly responded with an unassisted goal by Mathais C on a beautiful back hand shot high into the net after deking the defenseman with 3:08 left in the second. It was this heads up play which saw Mathais take home the Smartie award for the game.
In the 3rd period the Stars fought hard to keep the play in the Bandits zone but gave up a goal at the 7:10 mark. The Bandits pulled out all the stops, taking advantage of a star in the box for slashing and pulling their goalie; the 6 on 4 siege was on. But it was the Stars that would shine as they battled the puck along the boards and cleared the zone in the last seconds to capture the win and 2 very important points. A very solid effort by each of the players: Sam M put in great battles along the boards, Alex L stepped up his game on the blue line and was awarded the Hard Hat. Login G, Ethan E, and Michael B all played solid D supporting the puck, clearing the zone and getting shots on net from the blue line. Hayden F, Jaden G, did a great job buzzing the Bandits net and fore checking to keep the puck in the Beverly zone. A Big shout out goes to our net minder Seager G for an absolute stellar performance. With no time to rest on their laurels the Stars are back in action tomorrow against the Bandits for game 2. Lets carry this energy into their arena tomorrow boys!!!
