It was like a script from a movie, Delhi took it to us the first game of the season handing us our first of only 4 losses all year and then we meet them in the "A" finals and win on a bigger stage to close off the season as champs!
The final game of the year was played in Six Nations on March 29 but against Delhi. The Stars boys came out of the gate flying, pressuring Delhi all over the ice and generating plenty of scoring chances. We definitely had one of our better starts and that gave us a 3-0 lead after 2 periods. The third brought some penalty trouble and we slowly let them back into the game and they tied it at 3. We finally got things settled down and started moving our feet again and then a scramble around their net came loose and we put in the go ahead goal which turned out to be the game/season winner!
I am very proud of the effort the boys displayed in this and every game this year. With a record of 59-4-3 its easy to be happy with the success we had. Its was evident early in the season that these kids came from amazing families who believed there is only one way to work...and that's hard!
It's amazing how much these young boys have been through and willingly succeeded this year. I am thankful for the times we celebrated our wins and overcame our losses. Hopefully those moments will be stepping stones in their journeys in life
