All Good Things Must Come To An End….
The Atom Reps extended their unbeaten streak to 12 games before having it come to an abrupt end in the semi-finals of the Silver Stick this past weekend.

The team recorded two dominating wins heading in to the Silver Stick by beating Embro 12-1 and Waterford 8-2. In Embro, goals were scored by Kyle (x2), Easton (x2), Noah (x2), Tyler (x2), Zach (x2), Eric and Michael. Assists went to Michael (x3), Eric (x2), Tyler (x2), Kyle, Noah, Easton, Sam and Zach. Tyler came within 22 seconds of recording his second shutout with the team.
In the game against Waterford, the team carried the play again to extend their unbeaten streak to 9 games. Goal scorers were Michael (x3), Noah (x2), Alex, Zach and Eric. Assists went to Eric (x2), Zach (x2), Tyler (x2), Alex, Kyle, Evie, Easton and Michael. While not tested often, Jonathan made saves when tested to record the win.
The team continued it's strong play from league into the first game of the Silver Stick by beating South Huron 5-0. Goals were scored by Eric, Noah, Sam, Easton and Michael. Assists went to Michael (x2), Easton (x2), Eric, Connor and Noah. Colsyn was strong in goal recording the shutout.
The second game of the Silver Stick was a tale of two teams. The players had a hard time finding their game and found themselves trailing 2-0 and playing uninspired hockey. After recording their first goal of the game with 6 minutes left in the third, the team came alive and dominated play the rest of the way, tied the game and came within seconds of winning outright. Goals were scored by Michael and Connor with Sam and Michael recording assists. Jonathan held the fort to give the team a chance at the tie.
In the third round robin game of the tournament, the team came out angry and looking to prove how talented they are against Mount Forest. Facing a win or don't advance scenario, the team dominated every aspect of the game in recording a 6-0 win. The team scored the first goal 28 seconds in and didn't look back. Goals were scored by Easton (x2), Noah, Michael, Kyle and Eric. Assists went to Ben, Alex, Tyler, Michael and Noah. Colsyn recorded his second shutout of the tournament which included a breakaway save.
In the semifinal game, the Stars were matched up against a strong Listowel team that went 3-0 in the round robin. Unfortunately, the team that was so dominant against Mount Forest did not show up for this game and the team was handed a much deserved 6-3 loss. This game was only the second time this year that they have been outshot in a game and, much like the first time, not skating like they are able was the biggest issue. Goals were scored by Kyle, Noah and Michael with assists going to Ben, Eric and Noah. Jonathan battled hard in goal making some big saves but the team wasn't able to capitalize on that momentum.
The loss to Listowel put the team in to the consolation final against another strong team from Kincardine. After starting slowly in the first period, the team carried the play through the second and third. Despite outshooting Kincardine 18-10, the team was dealt a 5-2 loss as they were unable to capitalize on a number of good scoring chances while Kincardine made the most of their opportunities. Noah and Michael scored goals with Ben recording the only assist. The shot total for Kincardine was deceiving as the chances they did have were high quality and Colsyn was left on his own for the majority of the goals including 3 breakaways.
The Stars will look to start a new unbeaten streak this week as they play 3 league games against tough opponents.
