Thursday, Friday, Happy Days!
The Atom Reps swept games last thursday and friday by recording back to back shutout wins.
The Atom Reps won back to back games against St. George and Cayuga this week. Only the strong goaltending of their opponents kept the score close as the team peppered 70+ shots at the opposition net over the two games.
On Thursday against St. George, Colsyn came up with a huge save on a breakaway during a 0-0 game and the team paid him back by putting 3 past a good St. George goalie to help him earn his first shutout of the season. Noah (x2) & Tyler scored with Michael, Kyle, Easton, Eric and Adam recording assists.
On Friday the team ran in to another hot goalie in the game against Cayuga. The team carried the play in the first period and got out to a 1-0 lead. In the second, the Cayuga goalie turned away chance after chance as the Atoms continued to dominate play. The third period was a battle for the Atoms as they spent almost 11 minutes of the period shorthanded including 3 minutes down two players. The team showed great character in killing off the penalties and were helped by another big save from Jonathan with just over a minute left in the game before scoring on an empty net to secure the win. Sam and Michael scored with assists going to Eric and Michael.
The team faces another back to back challenge this week with games in Langton on Wednesday and at home against Ingersoll on Thursday.
